1 in 10 are still hungry
Oct 16, 2021 – World Food Day, on 16 Oct, follows Hunger Awareness Month in September. While global food production can feed the world’s population at 1.5 times, almost 1 in every ten people does not have enough to eat. Alarmingly, the number of undernourished people has increased by over 5% since 2015. The world’s problem is not that there isn’t enough food, but that the hungry have no access to it. Tackling this issue is complicated, as it needs work on many fronts, including, food wastage, poverty and public policy.
